Project Outcomes
The project results will be:
  • A web-based site hosting the developed training materials in the form of multimedia-rich learning resources. The site will offer: online e-learning/training resources; a free-to-use online reference database; a discussion forum for best practices exchange, and related information services accessible by teachers, VET trainers, industry managers and other professionals in the field of environmental education and VET. The web site will serve also as a gateway to a model e-learning environment.
  • E-learning/training materials for Implementing Environmental Standards; Tools for Technical Environmental Auditing (Energy, Water, Materials and Waste); training in Environmental Economics and provide information for the improvement of analytical skills.
  • A free-to-use online reference database of cost-effective retrofit options covering: Energy, Water and Materials conservation measures; the use of Renewable Systems for Sustainable Development; Pollution Reduction and Waste Minimisation.
  • Reports, survey results and best practices on: Global and Local (EU level) Environmental Problems; EU Environmental Legislation and Standards; European Environmental Education programmes to aid Sustainable Economic Development, etc.
  • Online presentations / Demos of experiences and best practices in the field of environmental learning.
  • A free-to-use model e-learning environment (built on open source software) for self-training of all interested "environmental" trainers and teachers in initial e-learning techniques.
  • A Virtual Collaborative Environment (VCE) especially developed and set up for easy networking among all partner organisations. The access to the VCE will be extended for use by transnational virtual learning circles in the field of Environmental Education, Training and Professional Practise.
After functional testing, the final results will be ready for online services in 22 months after the project starting date.

The main target groups are - teachers, VET trainers and education professionals (lecturers, authors, learning materials developers, instructional designers, e-content developers and providers, consultants, company learning executives (CLOs), and industry managers) from different economic sectors related to environmental problems. The training resources will be available in all languages of the project partners (English, Spanish, Italian, Finnish and Bulgarian). The resources could be translated into other European languages on demand. Media to be used - Internet and CD/DVD (on demand delivery). The online training resources will be highly interactive. They will include multimedia learning objects, assessments, quizzes, simulations, reference materials and many URLs to other online resources. The created multimedia content for efficient e-learning will turn complex concepts into easy-to-understand "visual language" presentations of the learning context, including 2D and 3D graphics, Flash animations, dynamic HTML, sound, voiceovers, etc. All published on the portal training resources / e-content will be freely downloadable via the Internet.
